Karine Artin, LSWAIC

Hello! My name is Karine Artin. I am pleased that you have made your first steps in finding a therapy service and therapist that will be the best match for your counseling. It is important to address both our physical and mental health, as they are often interconnected in the wellness process.

Finding a counselor that is the best match may be perplexing, so knowing about the counselor may give you consolation. Therefore, please allow me to tell you who I am and how I approach therapy. Being familiar with my proficiency and therapeutic outlook can allow you to decide if we are a good fit for a counseling alliance. Please also call me if you would like to know more.

Counseling is about YOU and good therapy is built on connection. As your counselor, my goal is to find an effective therapeutic connection that is empathetic, trustworthy, and goal-oriented, so that you can address the concerns you bring to our sessions with ease and feel the support while creating the changes you desire.

In order to experience our deepest recesses of joy and peace, we must first have the courage to face our challenges. That’s why I use a range of evidence-based, research-proven therapy techniques to help transform anxiety, depression, loss, grief, and loneliness into harmony and connectedness.

If you are experiencing disconnection in your relationships, having a loss, or undergoing a life transition, then asking for help may be your remedy to coping and relief.

The best time to reach out for therapy is when you are ready for a change.

If you have difficulty letting go of negative thoughts, if the anxious feelings and feelings of sadness hinder you from living a content life and if you want support to understand yourself, feel empowered with your story, and make a difference in your life, then counseling is for you. If you are tired of your critical mind, and you are ready for a self-discovery journey to feeling better and learning effective ways of coping with diverse situations, then counseling is for you. If you have powerful emotions that are difficult to navigate alone and you want to achieve balance and control over your emotions, then counseling is for you.

Often specific issues in your life aren’t getting better despite your best efforts, that may be a sign that you could use help from therapy.

It is difficult to face various problems of life alone and help from our loved ones is not always effective; as a therapist, I can help analyze your problem and suggest a new approach you may have not thought of before.

When facing an overwhelming emotional experience, many people feel lost, isolated, and alone. Therapy, first and foremost, is a way to relieve that sense of loneliness through trusting and collaborative therapeutic relationships with someone who has the expertise to empower and guide you along the journey of personal growth and change.

About me

Before I became an MSW/Counselor, I studied Gerontology. Gerontology is the study of the social, cultural, psychological, cognitive, and biological aspects of aging processes and individuals across the life course. This includes the physical, mental, and social changes in people throughout life, the investigation of changes in society, and the application of this knowledge to policies and programs.

Understanding a variety of impacts affecting the person throughout their lifetime and milestones allows me to have a holistic approach to addressing your concerns and have awareness toward the unique needs of your mental health.

I approach every client with an open mind and never make any assumptions about my life experiences. Every individual faces unique challenges and needs to work on themselves at their own pace, and I am here to help you along your own distinct journey toward acceptance. We will transform your life together.

Professional experience

My name is Karine Artin, MSW, ACSW. I have worked in the mental health field for more than 5 years helping individuals, elders, and families find the comfort they seek. After earning my Master of Science (M.S.) in Social Work from the University of Southern California, I obtained my credentials to receive an Associate of Clinical Social Work license from the California Board of Behavioral Sciences; later, I also obtained my Social Worker Associate Independent Clinical License from State of Washington Department of Health (Credential Number: SC61423638).

I worked as an Executive Director in healthcare settings for 16 years, which allowed me to have extensive experience in conflict resolution. Additionally, I have mentored troubled youth and gained experience in understanding the dilemmas affecting our teens today. I have a certificate as a Residential Care Facility Administrator and gained experience working with older adults who have been affected by loss and grief, as well as working with clients who have been affected by the Holocaust.

I appreciate learning about people’s stories and helping them to be empowered with their journey. I would be grateful to inspire you!
